Kathy Trafton

Kathy is a PhD candidate in geological sciences at the University of Oregon. She's studying the most recent eruption of Newberry Volcano, Oregon to understand why initially explosive silicic eruptions terminate with lava effusion. When not geeking out about volcanoes, Kathy enjoys playing with her chickens, listening to latin jazz, and eating copious amounts of cheese.
