Carmen is a geology and environmental science professor at Eastern Washington University. Her research focuses on the chemistry of water and soil. She is interested in how their composition changes over time both from natural processes and human activities. Her most memorable water research trip was collecting stream water in Antarctica. When she is not teaching or analyzing samples in her lab, she is running, reading, or looking for new adventures.
