Barbara Bond is an outdoor professional, author, and conservation advocate who brings decades of experience connecting people with the natural world. She has authored three guidebooks exploring Oregon and Washington's landscapes, contributed to major outdoor publications, and taught climbing for many years. Her adventures have taken her from the mountains of Tanzania to the Alps, fueling a lifelong commitment to making outdoor recreation accessible to all.
Barbara's leadership extends beyond the trail. She has served on the boards of Mazamas, Forest Park Conservancy, and Opal Creek, where she's focused on strategic solutions that strengthen mission-driven organizations. An active MSHI volunteer, she's passionate about expanding opportunities for people to experience the outdoors.
Barbara holds a BS in Biology and Chemistry, along with graduate degrees in Cell Biology/Biochemistry and Liberal Studies—credentials that inform her science-based approach to conservation and outdoor education.
