What does Mount St. Helens Institute do?
Mount St. Helens Institute helps people "SEE" Mount St. Helens through science, education, and exploration.
We provide hands-on science education for youth, guided exploration programs all around Mount St. Helens, manage volunteers at the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, and offer community events both on and off the mountain.
MSHI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

How is MSHI different from the Forest Service?
The U.S. Forest Service manages the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, which includes Mount St. Helens, the 1980 blast zone, and surrounding areas.
The Mount St. Helens Institute offers science, education, and exploration programs all around the Monument. MSHI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
