Partners

Our partnerships are vital; by collaborating with others than care deeply about this amazing place, we magnify our collective impact and achieve far more at Mount St. Helens than we could alone.

What does Partnership Look Like at MSHI?

Partnership is key to what we do at Mount St. Helens! Some ways we engage with our core partners include:

  • Co-programming with the Cowlitz Tribe
  • Training and supporting volunteers that play roles with MSHI, the US Forest Service, Washington State Parks, and Washington Trails Association
  • Sharing space at the Science and Learning Center with the US Forest Service while Johnston Ridge Observatory is inaccessible to them
  • Working with teachers to create a field trip that meets the needs of their students rather than providing a pre-packaged product
  • Scientists from USGS and universities from around the region coming together to support GeoGirls
  • Providing learning opportunities to partner staff through our volunteer trainings and Volcano Naturalist program

How are Donated Funds Used?

Unless designated for a specific purpose by the donor, MSHI applies donated funds where they are most needed in the organization. Donations may go to a variety of areas within MSHI like supporting volunteers, providing fee waivers for qualified youth groups to attend a program, administrative costs, new equipment for our community education programs, or stipends for our GeoGirls science teachers. We appreciate your support!
