Have you ever wondered what goes into making your trusted trails map? Join Guidebook author Craig Romano for a behind the scenes look into how Green Trails Maps are made. From initial design to final production, learn what goes into producing an accurate and reliable map. Craig who works as one of Green Trails Maps’ boots-on-the-ground GPS team will figuratively walk you through the mapping process. Along the way he will share lots of anecdotes and tales from being out in the field highlighting some of the excitement, challenges, and surprises (both good and bad) he’s encountered on the trail. Learn too about Green Trails Maps’ history and its commitment to the outdoors community and the wild places we all love.

Romano is one of the most prolific trails writers in the Northwest having penned more than a dozen books covering the region. His Columbia Highlands: Exploring Washington’s Last Frontier, was recognized in 2010 by Washington Secretary of State, Sam Reed and State Librarian, Jan Walsh as a Washington Reads book for its contribution to Washington’s cultural heritage.
