Special 40th Anniversary Hike

Travel through time during this special anniversary hike, 40 years after the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. Traverse the ridgeline that separates the blast zone from the standing dead and hear first-hand accounts of the eruption on May 18, 1980. We will hike up to Harry's Ridge, named after the lovable curmudgeon who lived along Spirit Lake, where a clear day reveals the breathtaking panoramic of this active volcano. Beginning and ending at the Johnston Ridge Observatory, participation in this hike includes entry to this world-class visitors center.
