Nina is a collaborator with MSHI and U.S. Forest Service PNW Research Station. She has worked in a variety of ecosystems including fire disturbed forests of the Sierra Nevada, tephra-fall impacted Valdivian rainforests of southern Chile, and most recently the volcanic landscapes of Mount St. Helens. As Ecology Crew Lead she oversees a variety of field projects including birds, small mammals, amphibians, fish, and arthropods. During the winter months, she contributes to the management and analysis of long-term datasets and monitors the inflow and outflow of collected specimens. As Pulse Coordinator, she works as part of a team to organize and prepare for The Pulse, a science, education, arts, and humanities event in July 2020. In her free time, she enjoys birding, climbing, running, and cooking.
