 ABBY SCHMEICHEL, Science Educator

Abby grew up living in multiple locations in New York, Virginia, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, and subsequently developed a passion to explore and understand the world around her! Since graduating from Alfred University with a degree in Environmental Studies, and a minor in Geology, she has traveled west to continue learning about the different environments the U.S has to offer. Abby spent a year working at Casper Mountain Science Program (CMSP) teaching mountain ecology and field science to K-12 students. She most recently was a Biological Science Technician at the Yellowstone Ecological Research Center (YERC) performing research in and out of Yellowstone National Park. Abby hopes to help others understand the environment around them, and believes outdoor education is a fun way to do so, bringing her to MSHI! Abby enjoys hiking, playing the piano, swimming, puzzles, and talking to her plants.
