Shelby McConnell, Assistant Guide

As an adventurous native of Northern California, Shelby was inspired to explore nature by the grandeur of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the ancient Redwoods. She channeled these early passions for wilderness exploration into education in Early Childhood Development and Deaf Studies and careers as a forest school teacher and mountain guide in the Pacific Northwest. She is an accomplished long-distance hiker with credits including the Pacific Crest Trail and Colorado Trail. Having witnessed the wonder of nature through the eyes of her students, she is devoted to working at the intersection of education and nature.
