Miriam is a student at Pitzer College in Claremont California studying Physics and Environmental Analysis. She grew up in Portland, Oregon hiking in the Columbia George and at the Oregon coast. Miriam is Wilderness First Aid Certified and has been mountaineering and rock climbing for the past six years. After interning for Mt. St. Helens Institute last summer, she is excited to return as an Assistant Guide. Miriam’s first ever ascent was St. Helens back in 2014 and she fell in love with mountaineering. She can’t wait to introduce people to Mount St. Helens and the world of alpine climbing. Outside of work, you can find her hanging out at the local climbing gym, reading outdoors, and desperately trying to learn the banjo.
