Kori Quatermass is a Pacific Northwest native who graduated from Portland State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She has done research on arachnids, invasive plant species, and worked in the biotechnology field. Kori gained program management, STEM curriculum development, and event planning experience while working at Oregon MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement) and at nConnect in Vancouver. Since joining the Mount St. Helens Institute in 2015 Kori has grown the Science and Learning Center/Coldwater Education Center rental program, made improvements to the building and the nearby field camp, created the Summer on the Mountain event series, and developed partnerships with community groups.
In the next several years, Kori is focused on long-term facilities planning, completing her Master's in Teaching in Science from Western Governors University, and exploring even more of America's amazing public lands. Outside of work, Kori enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, running, hiking, biking, volunteering, and visiting farmer's markets.
