Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Heather has a lifelong passion for the natural world and love for the Cascades volcanoes. She originally joined MSHI in 2015 as a Volcano Naturalist and has performed numerous volunteer roles since then. She earned a degree in Natural Resources and Wildlife Technology from a tiny college in Maryland, is pursuing a BS in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences from Oregon State University, and has completed both modeling/etiquette and fur trapping school. She is a cat mom, plays the banjo, has a crochet business and hosts two podcasts.
