George Brockman, Lead Guide, '23

George is an enthusiastic explorer of mountains and wilderness areas with over three decades of experience in the outdoors including hiking and climbing in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Nepal and British Columbia. He enjoys leading people, young and old, into wild areas to learn about themselves and the environment, and to experience the natural beauty that can be found there. George has always been keenly interested in the volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest in terms of their landscapes, science, beauty and the climbing challenges they offer. He has worked in outdoor education for many years and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. In the winter, he flips a switch and serves as a ski and snowboard instructor at a local ski resort.
