Mount St. Helens is a national treasure! Come join the Mount St. Helens Institute in our efforts to keep the volcano in our backyard safe, clean and enjoyable for all.
Join us as we take on trail maintenance & repair, invasive species removal and various other projects that keep our mountain looking spiffy.
Support the mission of the Mount St. Helens Institute and the Monument by assisting climbers on the climbing route, Mt. Margaret Backcountry, supporting guided climbs and field seminars, and helping with trail surveys.
Help volcano visitors explore the wonders of Mount St. Helens by providing information, direction and enthusiasm at one of three visitor centers.
Enjoy the great outdoors as a Campground or Field Camp Host. Check in and enhance the camping experience of overnight visitors.

Visit us and come volunteer at one of the world’s most famous volcanoes! Each season, two international volunteers are accepted and invited to volunteer for a minimum of 2 months (full-time). International applicants must apply nine or more months in advance to allow enough time for processing. Uniforms, training and housing provided.
