The Mount St. Helens Institute, Community Choices and Cowlitz on the Move are pleased to offer free guided hikes in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please.
June 29, Siouxon Creek Trail, 5 miles Moderate-- Hike through old growth forest and view outstanding waterfalls.
July 13, Lewis River Trail, 5 miles, Moderate-- Visit three majestic waterfalls.
July 27, June Lake Trail, 5 miles Moderate-- Experience ancient volcanic mudflows and lava fields.
August 10, Coldwater Lake and Hummocks Trail, 6.5 miles, Moderate -- Skirt the majestic northwest shore of Coldwater Lake and witness the amazing rebirth from the 1980 eruption.
August 24, Ghost Lake, 4.7 Miles, More Difficult-- View the devastation from the 1980 blast and the untouched beauty of the forest.
September 7, Harry's Ridge, 5 miles, More Difficult -- Spectacular views of Harry's Ridge and Coldwater peak.
September 28, Ptarmigan to Timberline Trail, 4.5 miles, Moderate -- Beautiful south side hike, virtually untouched by the 1980 eruption.
October 5, Falls Creek Falls, 4 Miles, Moderate-- Experience beautiful water falls along a moderate trail.
October 19, Red Rocks Pass, 5 miles, Moderate-- Discover the source of the Kalama River.
